In a consultant's report released in August 2007, it was estimated that the following industrial land holdings exist:
Palmerston North
There is a total of 538 ha of land zoned industrial in Palmerston North. Of this it is estimated 135.36ha are currently vacant.
Vacant land
87.97 ha in the North East Industrial Zone
15.7 ha in the Midhurst zone
18ha off Makomako Road
10 ha near Armstrong and Vogel Sts
Manawatu District
Total industrial land is 72 ha between Kawakawa Road and Turner Road, of which 24 ha are vacant.
There is another 27 ha in Longburn, of which 7.5ha is vacant.
