When all is said and done everything we do is to benefit the people of our community, whether they are business owners, employees, students or farmers.
Where we see challenges or opportunities for our people we will initiate projects and partnerships that seek innovate outcomes. Listed below are our latest projects investing in our most important asset - our people.
Youth
Our youth are the future leaders of our region and Vision Manawatu recognises the need for on-going investment in our young people.
We need to ensure our youth are engaged in education, training or work to achieve the goals we have set ourselves in the Regional Development Strategy. In order to do this Vision Manawatu collaborates with other organisations dealing with youth to develop positive outcomes for all involved.
Community
At the heart of any successful community are strong support networks.
Our community support services face on-going and increasing difficulty sourcing funding for the work they do. As funding becomes harder to obtain jobs within our community sector are placed at risk with the resulting decrease in community services. Vision Manawatu's objective is to support the growth and better utilisation of community resources.
Labour Market
Jobs are vital for any economy and Vision Manawatu undertakes on-going research and initiatives to support the regional labour market.
Our role is to identify areas of market failure and/or opportunity and intervene as appropriate to achieve positive outcomes. Many of our interventions involve bringing independent parties together to resolve common problems with collaborative solutions.
