Jobs are vital for any economy and Vision Manawatu undertakes on-going research and initiatives to support the regional labour market.
Our role is to identify areas of market failure and/or opportunity and intervene as appropriate to achieve positive outcomes. Many of our interventions involve bringing independent parties together to resolve common problems with collaborative solutions.
Succession Planning
It is a fact that a large percentage of business owners and farmers have made little or no provision for their exit from their business.
Not having a planned exit can create significant problems for owners including lowering the expected retirement income.
Key Sector Research
As part of the Regional Development Strategy we plan to engage in various research projects into our key sectors.
While this research will be varied our immediate plans are to look into the labour markets for each key sector to ascertain what interventions might be needed.
Military Resettlement Internships
Each year a number of highly skilled military personnel retire or resign from the armed forces.
Having spent upward of 20 years in the military, many of these personnel have little experience in the private sector or even applying for private sector jobs.
