Project Possum

Project Possum is a new Vision Manawatu initiative, providing greater opportunities for youth to stay in the Manawatu.

Under this initiative, youth will learn fur-harvesting skills allowing them to participate in the lucrative possum/merino market.

This market is currently valued at $120 million and is forecasted to grow by 300% over the next five years if supply remains available. Revenue from fur sales will build a sustainable fund for future project expenses and course graduates will be provided with the opportunity to run their own businesses.
