Innovation & Growth
Today, innovation performance is a crucial determinant of competitiveness and progress. Moreover, innovation is important to help address global challenges, such as climate change and sustainable development.
At Vision Manawatu we have innovation in spades – and we are well set up to encourage even more. As one of 14 national centres to support growing companies who wish to innovate and grow, we are a one stop shop for support. Our advisers will work with you to confirm your business needs, plan the next steps and connect you to all the key contacts to achieve your business ambitions.
Supported by New Zealand Trade & Enterprise and Ministry of Science & Innovation, our role is to enable you to achieve your ambitions in good time and good order.
Our partner, the BCC run an innovation centre that turns inventive ideas into business and transfers new technology from the lab to the marketplace. In doing so they help solve problems in the dairy, agricultural, horticultural, plant genomics, food security, nutrition and health and environment industries.
Massey is one of only four New Zealand universities to have been listed among the world's top 200 universities by the Times Higher Education Supplement, and their strengths in teaching and research are part of the support network available to business. Their innovative research initiatives include the Double Helix, New Zealand's most powerful nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer; the EpiCentre, which played a pivotal role in controlling the United Kingdom's foot and mouth epidemic; and the Research School of Public Health. Their facilities are available for business innovation and include a pilot plant for food innovation and microbrewery.
