Massey is one of only four New Zealand universities to have been listed among the world's top 200 universities by the Times Higher Education Supplement, and their strengths in teaching and research are part of the support network available to business. Their innovative research initiatives include the Double Helix, New Zealand's most powerful nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer; the EpiCentre, which played a pivotal role in controlling the United Kingdom's foot and mouth epidemic; and the Research School of Public Health. Their facilities are available for business innovation and include a pilot plant for food innovation and microbrewery.
